Discover everything there is to know about the traditional Dutch craft of sailcloth and windmill cloth weaving at the Weaver’s House at Zaanse Schans. You can take a seat behind the loom, grab some rest in the box bed and meet the weavers in their traditional costume. The Weaver’s House served as a weaving mill until the start of the twentieth century. In 2015, the house was reconstructed. It also houses a shop filled with unique gifts.

How to visit the Weaver's House with your City Card

It is not necessary to reserve a time slot to visit this location with your City Card. Make sure your City Card is valid at the time of your visit.

Loom

Experience how that must have felt; crawl behind the loom, relax in the box bed and be surprised by the present home weavers in traditional costumes.

Home weaving

The Wevershuis served as a home weaving mill until the early twentieth century. The house on the Zaanse Schans was rebuilt in 2015. The Zaans Museum demonstrates the craft of weaving at home here.
